My Favorite Natural Cold Remedy!
Hey Everyone! I honestly wanted to get this blog post up right after Christmas, but I wanted a few friends to try it out before I talked about it. Sometimes you can think something works, and then someone else tries it out and it does not have the same effect. I am here to tell you that I was not tripping it really does work! So here goes!
Guess who caught a cold during Christmas? Me, and it sucked in a major way! My mom says it’s because I went from a higher altitude here in Nashville to a lower altitude with humidity in Memphis. I just went with it. Haha! I literally tried everything to break that little cold. Hot toddy, Theraflu, Sudafed, Vicks on the bottom of my foot and then putting a sock over it. You name it I tried it! I can honestly say that the Theraflu worked the best, but I was not 100% just yet.
So once I got back to Nashville I decided to make my tea concoction which helps me out whenever I feel a cold trying to come. One of my favorite teas to drink is Lemon Ginger tea with honey.
Ginger is such an amazing ingredient, it’s good for digestion, it’s an inflammatory and warms you up from the inside out. You can find out more on ginger here.
I want to explain that not only do I use ginger and lemon I also have a few secret ingredients n my tea. Those ingredients are as follows: 1 cup of coconut water, 4 inches of ginger (i juice my ginger, but you don’t have to if you don’t own a juicer, while the coconut water is boiling throw in the ginger), sprinkle of cinnamon and cayenne pepper, juice of half a lemon, and 1 tbsp of honey for flavoring.
All of my ingredients are all natural and they all play a vital role in healing you form the inside out while being down and out from a little cold. The inflammation that you experience in your chest ginger can heal that. Got a little cough, ginger can heal that! This little concoction of mine is not only good for healing from a cold, but could also be used to cure a hangover! Think I’m joking try it out!!
I don’t like taking a whole lot of medicine especially antibiotics knowing that God put plenty of natural remedies here on Earth to heal us. Before there was medicine we got healing from plants and other natural sources. If you feel yourself trying to get a little sick just try out my little concoction and I promise you will feel a whole lot better the next morning when you wake up.
I would love to hear if you try it out below in the comments!
Thanks for reading!
